My name is Helen Hutchinson and I started CarpeDiem Consulting to provide customized support for the variety of issues that non-profits face with their fundraising information systems.

As a fundraising professional with a strong background in systems, I understand the needs of the development/advancement office.  I have over 22 years experience ensuring that fundraising systems support the needs of fundraisers.

I have helped a variety of medical, academic and issue-oriented non-profit institutions to:

  • Keep software and hardware conversions running smoothly by developing and coordinating plans and schedules for information mapping, training and reporting needs and data verification.
  • Evaluate current systems, streamline and develop procedures and coding strategies, and write and maintain policy and procedure manuals
  • Maximize a current system's potential by developing major donor tracking systems, linking outside databases to development information, and developing alternative reporting methods.
  • Minimize downtime during staffing transitions or peak work times by providing customized training and assistance on special projects.
